Single Vision

Lensology's single vision lenses come in three types –

Distance Correcting Lenses (also referred to as Everyday Lenses). Used by people who need help focusing on far away objects. If you use glasses for driving or watch TV, they probably have Distance Correcting Lenses.

Near Vision Lenses. Used in reading glasses by people who need help focusing on nearby objects.

Intermediate Lenses. Used by people who spend a lot of time at a computer screen or similar activities at roughly arm’s length.

Varifocal Vision

Varifocals are designed to give you consistent and continuous clarity of focus across all distances with one single lens. They can be described as having three portions of the lens. The top of the lens is used for seeing things at a distance, the middle for intermediate viewing, and reading/close work at the bottom.

All varifocals have a certain amount of unavoidable peripheral distortion or soft focus towards the outside of the lens. This distortion can be mitigated and minimised by opting for a higher quality, more modern design of lens.

Cheaper than the High Street

I was after a cheaper way to reglaze my glasses than offered in High Street stores and I've found it 🙂 . I started with a basic pair of single vision lenses with an anti-glare coating and got back exactly what I ordered, perfectly good, clear lenses. I've just received my reglazed Polaroid sunglasses and they are perfect and crystal clear. I miss getting my glasses fitted properly at a store, but its a small issue compared to the cost saving. Overall I'm very happy with my experience and I will continue to use Lensology in the future.

Third time ordering and always the best!! Quick email responses, already knew how the system worked so i emailed all the info needed at once and got my quote in a matter of hours. Love that youre able to get a helpful email response quickly by the team.Expected my glasses to come in a week but took literally 2 days! Shocked at the quick turn around time but amazing as always. As someone who has ordered 3 times over the past few prescriptions, i recommend using Lensology as you know your frames are in good hands. Very happy, will always stick to Lensology for my future frames.

Shipping was quick, and the quality of the lenses is great.

I'm always skeptical when I have to order anything from outside the US. This order was handled perfectly, the company shipped the lenses right away, and communicated throughout the entire process. I would not hesitate to order from them again. Well done.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can I change my Lensology order?

If you need to amend your order, please contact Lensology at hello@lensology.co.uk or on 01923 940408. You can also log onto the website and use our live chat. Be sure to have your order number available, and we’ll take care of the rest.

How do I submit my prescription to Lensology?

For prescription lens orders, we will email you a link to submit your prescription details and fitting measurements online. This email may take 15 minutes to arrive.

How do I know if a frame fits me?

Here are some rules of thumb: Your pupils should be near the center of the lens. The lenses shouldn’t extend past the side of your face. Your eyebrows should not be inside the glasses. When you smile, your cheeks don’t push the frames up. And the frames shouldn’t slide down your nose.

How long does it take if my glasses are bifocals, varifocals, or custom made?

You can view a full list of our estimated production times on our dedicated page: https://lensology.co.uk/estimated-production-times/For non-stock lenses, such as varifocals, bifocals, or custom-made lenses, production typically takes up to 10 working days. Some highly specialist lenses – like mirror tints or bespoke finishes – can take up to 3 weeks due to the complex manufacturing involved. If you choose our premium Omni-Vision HD varifocals, your order will be fast-tracked free of charge, with typical dispatch in around 5 working days.To get your new lenses as quickly as possible, choose our ULTIMA coating or add Fast Track at checkout to receive priority production in our lab. We also recommend selecting ‘I have my own packaging’ to generate a free prepaid postage label and sending us your frames in your own packaging, this will save the couple of days it takes for us to post a pack out to you.If you have a specific date by which you need your glasses, just let us know, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request.

Where can I find my frame’s measurements?

All of our frames have some numbers printed on the inside of the temples. These relate to the frame's lens width, bridge width, and temple length. Frame dimensions are listed under Measurements on each product page.

How long does it take if my glasses are single-vision lenses (e.g. everyday lenses or readers)?

You can view a full list of our estimated production times on our dedicated page: https://lensology.co.uk/estimated-production-times/Most single vision lenses – including clear, sunglasses, and Transitions® – are part of our stock range and typically take 5–7 working days from the moment we receive and verify your glasses. If you need your lenses sooner, choose our ULTIMA coating or add Fast Track at checkout to receive priority production in our lab. For stock lenses, this means your glasses can be completed within 1-2 working days. The ULTIMA range includes top-quality lenses such as clear lenses, sunglasses lenses, and Transitions® lenses. In addition to the speed and quality, the ULTIMA lenses come with a 12-month warranty, which means if you scratch or damage your lenses, we’ll replace them free of charge
